Adults will look after us and remind us when things are harmful and how our rules keep us safe.

Article 29: Your right to become the best you can be.

  • We will come to school on time everyday
  • We will use good listening and thinking
  • We will ask questions and persevere
  • We will make mistakes, try again and tell others how we got out of the pit
  • We celebrate our differences

Adults will  involve us in our learning, teach us and help us to learn new things that are interesting and exciting.  Help us to celebrate our achievements and the effort we make.

Article 31:  Your right to relax and play.

  • We will be kind, polite, care and share with everyone
  • We will use the calm area and respect others who need quiet time
  • We will be mindful and reflect each day

Adults will show how we take care of our classroom and ensure we learn how to relax and have opportunities each day.

Our Spring Term theme

Splendid Skies & Moon Zoom

You can learn about these on this link:

Plan for parents

The children will be listening to stories about the weather, space and planets.   We will be going for walks to investigate and finds seasonal changes and inviting visitors into school.

We will imagine what it is like to float high above land and sea on a bed of clouds and also back down to earth to take different walks.  What should we wear? How do we know what the weather will be like tomorrow? Where do clouds come from?

As we investigate outside we may find something strange in our playground!  We will be finding out who might have manded by exploring the craft and helping them to return home.  I wonder what planets are up in space and how can we help them to get home?

We will take part in research, look at photographs and create different models to help us to measure the wind through the use of technology and highlight the importance of eSafety.

We will also be learning about different festivals and celebrations such as Santes Dwynwen, Saint Valentine, Shrove Tuesday, Dewi Sant, Purim and Easter.  Christmas.

Our home learning activities during this theme are included on the plan for parents.

Here are more ideas to learn together at home:

We also do Read Write Inc daily which helps us with our blending and spelling.  Reading together at home is an essential part of this.

Building Learning Power

We want our pupils to be curious, confident and independent learners.  We develop learning habits which raise achievement, improve behavior and increase enjoyment in learning.

Being stuck means we are learning, learning ways to become unstuck.

The importance and the skills we need for working together.

To understand why we need to ask goodquestions and what a good question may be.

What is a good listener and what do we need to do.

Using our minds eye and wondering ‘what if…’

Being able to working things out methodically and being able to give your own point of view.

This term we will be building the learning habit of ‘Meta-Learning’ knowing yourself as a learner – how you learn best. How to talk about the learning process
