After school clubs
After- school clubs are intended as enrichment clubs for pupils to develop their skills and are not intended as a childcare facility. We are grateful that we have such committed and supportive teachers and support staff, as they offer these clubs in their own time.
After school clubs are offered at the end of the school day from Tuesday to Friday. These clubs run from after the school day until 4.00pm/4.15pm.
Prior to pupils starting at an after school club, parents will be asked to fill in a form to indicate the clubs their child is interested in. Occasionally, some clubs are over-subscribed, so we look carefully at these slips and ensure that all pupils are offered at least one club per week. We will then write to you to confirm which clubs they may attend.
All pupils in the Foundation Phase and Years 3 and 4 must be collected by a parent / adult after school, in the usual way. Pupils in Years 5 and 6 may walk home unaccompanied, provided that parents / carers have written to the club leader giving consent to this.
After school clubs provide pupils with an excellent opportunity to develop their skills, in a small group and in a more informal context. We hope that, as parents, you will encourage your child to attend and take up this opportunity.
